Creative Options Regina!
The COR Studio has offered something to everyone looking to be a part of it. To our supports it’s been an opportunity to share their passion. For those we serve it is an outlet to blast their hibernating creativity into the stratosphere. For COR it’s helped in creating partnerships and connections with aspiring and practicing artists. And for us all, it has created community.
Over the course of our short history we have had the pleasure of hosting some incredible artists. We have stayed true to building upon our current employees ideas and talents and hosted classes varying from world building role playing games with a twist, to the art of science classes. However, we have also opened our studio to new external ideas like Lego sculpture classes, Circus Arts, and the art of food challenges. We’ve even been lucky enough to work with many local artists with the help of the Saskatchewan Arts Board, Community Initiatives Fund, Lorne Evelyn Johnson, and in-kind donations from the City of Regina, just to name a few. All of them responsible for supporting us to employ locally registered artists like Jessie Dishaw, Josh Goff, Brandy Jones, and Jori Cachene respectively and all the while adhering to the CARFAC minimum recommended fee schedule.
It’s been incredible experiencing this space’s evolution over the years. It has gone from being a naturally lit street front cube with a couple desks and a computer, to the buzzing and vibrant vision we once sat in a board room and dreamed about. What brings it life is the people who frequent it. Their ideas paint its potential path and their joy is the fuel that keeps it all running. Here we heal and learn but we also create. Here ideas are your superpower and anything is possible.
